Keeping in line with the spirit of Interrail, train travel is positively interesting in the Czech Republic, you can just hop on and off most of the local and regional trains.
But to give you peace of mind, we recommend that you make sure you understand everything there is to know about seat reservations and supplements on trains in the Czech Republic before you travel.
Reservations are required for
In the Czech Republic only a limited number of domestic train connections will require you to make reservations. Have a look at our list below to find out which trains they are:
- High-Speed Trains: SC SuperCity Trains which serve connections between major cities require reservations.
- Intercity Trains: Trains such as Eurocity (EC) and InterCity (IC) which connect larger cities require reservations.
- Night trains: You will be required to make a reservation if you wish to use a Night Train in the Czech Republic.
Reservations are not required for
- Expres (Ex): Reservations are not required on these regional trains which only serve a few selected stations.
- SpÄ›šný (Sp) Trains: Reservations are not required on these special interregional trains.
- Rychlík (R): Reservations are not required on these interregional trains.
- Osobní Vlak (Os): Reservations are not required on these commuter trains.
