But to give you piece of mind, we recommend that you make sure you understand everything there is to know about seat reservations and supplements on trains in Slovenia before you travel.

We would recommend reservations, if you are intending to use any of the following trains in Slovenia:

• InterCitySlovenija (ICS): Reservations are compulsory on these Inercity trains.

• EuroCity (EC): Reservations are recommended on these high-quality international trains.

• InterCity (IC): Reservations are recommended on these trains which cover long distances on national and international routes.

• International trains (MV): Reservations are required on these fast and reliable trains which connect Slovenia internationally.

• EuroNight (EN): Reservations are required on these night trains

• International (MV) trains: Reservations are  required on these fast and reliable international trains

Reservations are not required for:

The following trains in Slovenia do not need you to make a reservation:

• Primestni vlaki (LP): Reservations are not required on these local trains.
